The vintage original Singer Quilter* Attachment and guide bar are used to keep each row of sewing parallel with the previous row stitched. When the quilting pattern calls for a floral or conventional design, it is best to raise the guide or remove the bar entirely. The name ‘Quilter’ should not be understood to indicate that this foot is used only for quilting as it may be put to many other uses. When applying rows of ornamental stitching or attaching braid to a garment, the Quilter foot is of great assistance. Instructions are included.
This attachment is also used in connection with the Underbraider. When using it with the underbraider, the guide bar is taken from the foot by pulling it to the right until it is released from the clamp. The Underbraider is used in sewing braid to the material by stitching through the center of the braid from the backside of the fabric. Braiding is attractive trimming and is applied easily and perfectly with the Underbraider & Quilter.
* Due to the vintage nature of this attachment, if you are wanting even feed of the fabric and batting, then it is recommended that you use a ‘new’ Walking Foot designed for your model sewing machine. (available in our shop)
