Singer Featherweight 221 Sewing machine, 1935 AD881*** The Singer Featherweight Shop

We are very excited to add this lovely 1935 Featherweight 221 to the site; AD881*** indicates a commission date of March 18th, 1935.  Completely serviced, cleaned, polished, electrically inspected, timed, tuned and sampled – rest assured, this Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case.  This machine is fitted with an original 110 volt motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque, so you can plug it in and begin sewing with effortless power.  This 221’s decals are in very good condition, and the machine has been given a grade 8.  The only wear consists of some light pin scratches and scuffs near the back. 

Some of the distinctions of the early Featherweights compared to the later models are: the non-numbered tension unit, the front mount bobbin winder, and the split base at the right side of the machine under the receptacle. These features evolved over the next couple of years until the more common characteristics were developed.

Are you a Quilter?  Additional Quilting Attachments can be purchased, and if you need any Fashion Aids for apparel or ornamental sewing (i.e. Buttonholer, Blind Stitcher, etc…), we will prepare samples for those as well should you decide to purchase them separately.
