Singer Featherweight 221K Sewing Machine, 1955 – EK987*** The Singer Featherweight Shop

This Singer Featherweight 221K is in great condition, and it was commissioned on December 20th, 1955.  Cleaned and serviced inside and out – this 221K will be ready to sew right out of the case.  This machine is fitted with an original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to work with optimum speed and torque.  This machine is given a Grade 8-.  Be sure to click on any image above to view this Singer Featherweight machine in close detail.  It is in great condition with a few pin scratches. 

This machine is somewhat unique and may seem inconsistent with the Featherweight timeline; however, it’s peculiarities are due to the fact that it was made in the UK but sold in Canada. The Featherweight 221K machines sold in Canada prior the Red ‘S’ era, did not have the light switch on the top of the machine near the light like the 221K machines sold in the UK and Europe. The light housing used on this machine is more consistent with the light switch used on 221 Featherweights with the older Celtic knot decals, so it seems out of place on this machine though it is original.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later.  The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.

The machine is fitted with an original striated faceplate and the original case includes the top tray for holding the foot controller.
