We are very excited to add this lovely “Red S” Featherweight 221K to the site. Completely serviced, cleaned, polished, electrically inspected, timed, tuned and sampled – rest assured, this Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque, so you can plug it in and begin sewing with effortless power. Many of you might be wondering, “what does the “K” mean after the 221?” That ‘K’ simply means the machine was manufactured at the Kilbowie, Clydebank, Scotland SINGER plant. During the last three years of production of the black Singer Featherweights (1959-1961), a “Red S” emblem was issued rather than the standard gold-colored badge.
ES172*** indicates an original production commission date of November, 3rd 1960 and is given a Grade 8-. Be sure to click on any image far above to view the close-up details of this Singer Featherweight machine. The machine is in beautiful condition with the only flaws being some small pin scratches near the needle plate.
