Singer Featherweight 221K Sewing Machine, WHITE FA203*** – RARE Case! The Singer Featherweight Shop

This White Singer Featherweight 221K is so dainty and pretty! Completely serviced, cleaned, polished, electrically inspected, timed, tuned and sampled – this White Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case.  This machine is fitted with its original 220v motor that has been rewound to work at 110 voltage with optimum speed and torque.  A voltage converter is not needed in the USA or Canada.  (Technically and originally named by Singer, the color of this machine is called “Pale Turquoise”, however it is more commonly known as the Celery or White colored Featherweight.  But, as you can tell from the lighting, the color changes depending upon its surroundings.)

FA203*** indicates an original production commission date during the mid-late 1960s and this machine is given a Grade 8– with a few small scuffs.  Some of the dating for White Featherweights has become obscure due to incomplete records.  You can view some of the records here.  Be sure to click on any image above to view the machine in closer detail.  The machine is in fabulous condition with very minimal wear. 

The case has a lilac-colored hounds tooth interior with two-tone (cream/navy) exterior.  This case style is found in the United Kingdom and Europe rather than the USA. The latches on this rare case are unique in the fact that they flip down instead of up like all other Featherweight cases.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later.  The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
